Language Arts

Language Arts is fundamentally the ability to use language proficiently in order to communicate an idea or thought. The strands through which this objective is achieved are: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. 

During STEM Festival, students are presented with the amazing opportunity to work on projects that integrate the core strands of the Language Arts while visitors to the festival have the opportunity to hone their Language Arts skills through intellectually stimulating games.


Mathematics enables you to seek out patterns and discover new concepts through the study of quantity (numbers), structure, space and change. Mathematical reasoning can provide insight and predictions about nature. Maths at STEM 2018 will demonstrate the different faces of mathematics re-affirming it as one of the most powerful subjects that explains our natural world.



Robotics, a branch of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, deals with the design, construction, operation and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback and information processing. Students creatively showcase their robotic design, construction and programming skills at STEM.



Engineering design is a series of steps in which the basic sciences, mathematics and engineering sciences are used to convert our resources in the best ways possible to meet today’s demands. Among the fundamental elements of the design process is the establishment of objectives and criteria, synthesis, analysis, construction, testing and evaluation. STEM students are charged with the innovative task of constructing a simple model of a familiar technology and improving its performance.



Biology or ‘the study of life and living organisms’ is a natural science that includes the structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution and taxonomy of living things. Modern biology is a vast subject composed of many branches and sub-disciplines. STEM festival is an opportunity for us to understand the magical world of cells, cellular activities, organisms, living things, our amazing body and life.



Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the composition, structure, properties and change of matter. It is chiefly concerned with atoms and molecules and their interactions and transformations. Exciting and colorful experiments illustrating the properties of chemical bonds to create explosive chemical compounds are performed by STEM students.



Physics or 'knowledge of nature' is a natural science involving the study of matter and its motion through time and space, along with related ideas such as energy and force. More broadly, it is the general study of nature, conducted in order to understand how the universe behaves. STEM students are afforded the opportunity to demonstrate important aspects of the role of physics in today’s technological society.
